Masked Makers

Some of my students are back to classes (yay!) where we mostly wear masks and use the air purifier while we are together. Generally we can ignore our masks and still find ways to be creative and find joy working with mud, tools, and glaze. 

Here is Elaine measuring with calipers to try to make a lid for a pitcher (for her parents' teapot; the original lid broke).

Olga is shown here (and in 2 video clips) trying out doing a thinned glaze application on the wheel:





This is Olga (unmasked, so before the Pandemic) experimenting with using paper as a mask to build different levels with slip, then removing the paper before firing. 
I appreciate how Olga tries out new techniques.
